Can I get a digital copy of my senior's pictures?
No, we do not offer any way to purchase the digital files of pictures taken by River Oaks Photography. The Summer Special Deal (only offered during a time in the summer) is the only way to recieve digital images and can not be purchased after the sale has ended.
Do I have to schedule my senior's appointment prior to the Summer Special deadline for pricing to apply?
No! While River Oaks must receive your paid order form by the date provided, appointments can be scheduled anytime during our designated appointment hours up until the yearbook deadline (generally the end of January before your senior graduates).
How do I schedule my senior's in-studio session?
Give us a call at (504) 326-2534 and press 1 to be directed to a representative who can help you book your appointment.
How should I prepare for my senior session?
We recommend students do not schedule haircuts immediately prior to their session and stick to hair styling methods they are most comfortable with- don't reinvent the wheel!
Similarly, we recommend you do not change up your skincare routine or products within the week of your scheduled session.
Consider grooming brows or other facial hair at least 1-2 days prior to your appointment to avoid potential irritation.
If you own one, please bring your class ring with you on the day of your shoot, as we reserve a pose for students to show off their ring in graduation gear.
Please note that hands will be visible in this class ring pose, so prepare your fingernails accordingly!
"Daytime" makeup tends to show up best- we recommend nude tones that accent your natural glow.
False lashes can cast a significant shadow over your eye- the bolder and bigger, the less likely your eyes will show up properly in the shot.
Those opting for a tuxedo portrait should consider wearing a white or light colored well-fitted shirt to your session. River Oaks will provide button-up shirts.
River Oaks will supply pearl necklaces for drape portraits, but you are welcome to bring your own necklace instead.

Can I add poses or print sizes to my package?
Yes! Add-on pricing is available with the purchase of any package. Please note that these prices are contingent on package purchase, and are not available for individual sale.
Are my senior's photographs retouched?
Retouching is complementary with the purchase of a package. This includes basic skin retouching, glasses glare, tooth whitening, and stray hairs. Anything beyond this may incur fees on a case-by-case basis, including things like retouching braces and face slimming.
How long does my order take to process?
Once your senior has completed their session, proofs will be mailed to the home address we have on file within the week.
Where do I find the order form for my child's school day picture?
Your student should receive an order form to take home from their school. Additional copies may be available at your school's front office OR download at any time here.
How do I submit my order form?
Students should bring fully completed order form and full payment with them on their designated school portrait day and turn in to a River Oaks photographer when they take their picture.
What should I do if my order form is lost, forgotten, or otherwise late?
A $10 late fee applies to any order forms submitted after the student's designated portrait date. There is about a week grace period (following the students portrait date) where River Oaks Portraits will accept orders without a fee. New order forms can be downloaded at any time here.
When is my student's in-school portrait date?
What exactly are School Day pictures?
School Day pictures are the pictures taken at the beginning of every school year and are availible for purchase. Every student is photographed with the exception of any abentees, a second date is uaually set by the school for us to the return to photograph those students. River Oaks Portraits does not return to the school after these dates and School Day pictures are not taken in studio. These are the photos used in the yearbook, IDs, and sometimes JPAMS. River Oaks Portraits ONLY SUPPLIES the images and are not responsible for any other dealings within these areas.
Can River Oaks expedite the processing on my order?
Unfortunately there is no way to shorten or move up your order's processing time.
How do I find River Oaks Studio?
We are directly across from State Farm Insurance and south of the Little Tokyo located by the red light on Asbury at Desoto St./Sharp Rd.
Do you take family portraits / headshots / wedding photos?
Due to the high volume of orders we receive from our school contracts, River Oaks does not currently have the additional resources to accomodate individual client requests.
What payment methods does River Oaks accept?
For security purposes, River Oaks Portraits does not accept credit or debit cards at any time. Payments can be made via check, money order, cashier's check, or cash.
